FY09 Budget News

Today at 2:00 Representative Pearce, Biggs, and myself have a meeting with fellow colleagues in the Senate to begin working on a FY09 Budget that does not include borrowing. I am unsure that this can actually be accomplished, to say the least but I am now "at the table" so to speak, involved in budget talks. A wrong has been righted now that leadership is allowing, so far, the FY09 budget proposal to progress through the Appropriations committee, with input from appropriations committee members. Kudos to Appropriations Chairman Russell Pearce for standing his ground and going to bat for the proper process of developing a budget through the Approps commitee!
